Ascended Social Acceptable Use Policy
Acceptable Use Policy
Acceptable Use Policy, Third Eye Cyborg, LLC
Effective October 16, 2026 Last updated October 30, 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes uses of Ascended Social that are not permitted on the website, web app, mobile app, desktop app, in-game experiences, and APIs (collectively, the "Service"). It is incorporated by reference into the Ascended Social Terms of Service (https://legal.ascended.social/terms-ascended-social-terms-of-service) and any app-store end-user licence terms that apply to our apps, and supplements the in-product Community Guidelines.Order of precedence: if this AUP conflicts with another document, they apply in this order: (1) mandatory law and the consumer rights in Section 28 of the Terms of Service; (2) our Child Safety & CSAE Standards, for anything involving minors or child sexual abuse material; (3) the specific policy for its own subject (for example, the Creator Partner Program Terms: Payouts for payouts and earnings, or the DMCA / Copyright Policy for copyright); (4) this AUP, for conduct and content rules; (5) the rest of the Terms of Service. The Community Guidelines are a plain-language companion to this AUP and do not add to or loosen it.
This AUP covers everything you post, send, upload, stream, schedule or do on the Service, including through bots, apps, API keys or our MCP server acting for you, and all Creator Partner Program activity.
Ascended Social is intended for adults and users represent that they are at least 18 years old. The product currently relies on that representation rather than independent age verification. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we may restrict or remove it.
2. Prohibited content
- Content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or violates the rights of others.
- Sexual or sexualised content involving minors of any kind. We have a zero-tolerance policy. Use the dedicated Child Safety & CSAE Standards (/legal/child-safety) reporting path, or report the post, profile or message in the app. We remove this content, permanently close the accounts involved, and comply with our legal reporting obligations.
- This includes sexualising minors in text, drawings, or AI-generated or altered images, grooming, sextortion, and contacting a minor for sexual purposes. Our Child Safety & CSAE Standards govern these cases and take precedence over this AUP.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, doxxing, or content used to stalk, harass, or threaten any person.
- Harassment, including targeted abuse, unwanted contact after someone has blocked you or asked you to stop, pile-ons or brigading, threats, and encouraging others to do any of these.
- Content that promotes or facilitates self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders, framed as spiritual initiation or otherwise.
- Content that incites violence, terrorism, or organised hate against people based on protected characteristics.
- Hateful content that attacks, dehumanises, or calls for the exclusion of people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion or belief, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or serious illness. This includes slurs, hateful symbols, and stereotypes used to demean. Discussing or criticising beliefs and practices is allowed.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, publicity, or other intellectual-property rights of others.
- We close the accounts of repeat infringers, as described in our DMCA / Copyright Policy (/legal/dmca).
- Spam, automated mass-posting, repetitive promotional content, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
- Fake engagement: buying, selling or trading followers, reactions, views, votes, Energy or reviews; engagement pods and reaction-for-reaction schemes; and misleading links, clickbait or link farming.
- Impersonation: pretending to be another person, creator, brand, organisation or Ascended moderator, or using accounts, profiles or content likely to mislead people about who you are or who you are affiliated with. Clearly labelled parody, commentary and fan accounts are allowed.
- Commercial offers of "curse removal", "dark energy clearing", manufactured spiritual emergencies, or similar services made with urgency, fear, or financial pressure. (This does not apply to in-game spiritual-combat mechanics — such as curse removal or energy-clearing actions inside the As Above So Below practice-battle system — which are fictional gameplay, not real-world services.)
- Specific medical, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice presented as fact. Labelling something as spiritual, educational or "not advice" doesn't make it allowed if it breaks the rule below.
- The following are prohibited even with a disclaimer, and no disclaimer excuses them: claims that a spiritual practice, product or service cures, treats or prevents a disease or mental-health condition; advice to stop, delay or replace prescribed medical or psychiatric treatment; promoting unapproved drugs or dangerous substances or practices; and health misinformation likely to cause real-world harm. Sharing personal experiences and spiritual perspectives is allowed.
3. Prohibited conduct
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service except as expressly permitted by our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy.
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service, our infrastructure, or other users' access.
- Bypassing rate limits, age gates, geographic restrictions, or moderation tooling.
- Scraping, harvesting, or otherwise collecting personal information about other users without their consent.
- Accessing the Service by automated means (crawlers, scripts or headless browsers) other than our published APIs within their limits; reselling or sharing API keys or access; reverse-engineering the Service; or using the Service or its data to build a competing product or dataset.
- Using the Service to train machine-learning models on user content without explicit authorisation from us and the affected users.
- Operating multiple accounts to evade enforcement, manipulate metrics, or amplify your own content.
- Selling, renting or transferring accounts, or using another person's account without permission.
- Using the Service to facilitate illegal activity, including unauthorised access to private property suggested by Astronomaly.
3A. Payments and Energy
- Using stolen, unauthorised or fraudulent payment methods, testing cards, or helping others do so.
- Making abusive chargebacks or refund requests for purchases you received and used.
- Exploiting bugs, glitches or pricing errors to get Energy, subscriptions or features, or farming Energy through scripts, multiple accounts or self-dealing.
- Selling, buying or trading Energy, Energy Packs or accounts outside the Service, or using Energy to launder money or move value in ways the Service doesn't offer.
- Using Energy, tips or paid features to pressure, coerce or exploit other users.
3B. Creator Partner Program
- Inflating views, watch time, subscribers, referrals or any other metric used to calculate payouts, whether through bots, bought traffic, multiple accounts or coordinated schemes.
- Giving false identity, tax or payout details, enrolling ineligible or duplicate accounts, or using someone else's payout account.
- Self-referral, circular purchases, or refund-and-repurchase schemes designed to generate earnings.
- How earnings are handled after fraud or a breach is governed by the Creator Partner Program Payout Terms. See Section 5.
4. AI and automated systems
You may not use Ascended Social's AI features, recommendation systems, or moderation systems to generate content that violates this AUP, to attempt prompt-injection or jailbreaking, to impersonate a real person, or to mass-produce content that crowds out human voices in the community.AI-generated or AI-altered images, audio or video that realistically depict a real person or event must be labelled as AI-generated. Do not use AI to create sexual or intimate imagery of a real person without their consent, and do not present output from Roxy or other AI features as professional medical, legal or financial advice.
4A. Public discovery and ranking integrity
Pendulums is a public discovery surface for eligible content. Do not use multiple accounts, scripts, coordinated reactions, keyword stuffing, duplicate uploads, or other inauthentic activity to manipulate trending or popular ranking, facets, flow tags, or visibility.Creator-provided flow tags are optional labels, not moderation verdicts or guarantees of ranking. They must accurately describe the associated work and must not be used to evade safety, copyright, or visibility controls.
4B. Automated Agents & Bots
This AUP applies to automated agents, integrations, and bot accounts, including bots installed into Networks. Projects channels are covered by the same moderation and accountability framework wherever they are enabled, including card timesheets used to record contributed time. Do not falsify clock-in or clock-out records, impersonate another member on a timesheet, or use timers to harass or surveil people outside legitimate project coordination. Bot operators and network admins who install bots are responsible for bot behavior and outcomes.Permitted uses. Utility automation, moderation assistance, and community workflows that are transparent, scoped, and consistent with user consent.
Bot accounts must be clearly labelled as bots and must not present themselves as human.
Prohibited uses. Spam, unsolicited outreach, impersonation, covert automation, scraping/harvesting member data, vote or reaction manipulation, and attempts to bypass platform safety controls.
Operator accountability. We may suspend or revoke bot tokens, remove bot installations, and enforce against the responsible account(s) when automated behavior violates this AUP.
Additional bot-specific obligations are described in our API Terms of Use (/legal/api-terms).
4C. Akashic Engine governance
The Akashic Engine lets the community propose and vote on the positivity prompt that shapes AI-mode recommendations. The following additional rules apply:- No vote manipulation. Operating multiple accounts, coordinating inauthentic voting, scripting votes, or offering compensation for votes is prohibited.
- Proposal content standards. Proposed prompts must comply with this AUP and the Community Guidelines. Prompts designed to degrade recommendation quality, inject hateful content, suppress particular voices, or exploit the system are prohibited.
- Good-faith participation. Governance tools are for genuine community input. Submitting frivolous, spam, or deliberately disruptive proposals may result in loss of governance privileges.
- Review and appeal. We review every proposal that reaches quorum. Approved prompts become the active positivity prompt, and rejected proposals get a written rationale. If you disagree with a rejection, email trust@thirdeyecyborg.com within 6 months with your reasons, and we'll take another look and reply within 3 business days.
4D. Moderation and planned federation
Scheduled Flows. When you schedule a Flow, you authorize us to publish it on your behalf, as you, at or around the time you choose. You remain the author of scheduled Flows and responsible for them as of the time they publish. Scheduled Flows go through the same review as any Flow when they publish, using your moderation setting at that time. They may be delayed, held for review, removed or not published, including if your plan's limits have changed, your account is restricted, or the Flow isn't allowed in the place you scheduled it from. We don't guarantee that a scheduled Flow will publish at an exact time. You can edit, cancel or delete a scheduled Flow until it starts publishing. Delete removes a scheduled Flow and its media right away. Cancelled or failed scheduled Flows are deleted after 7 days. Once a scheduled Flow publishes, we delete the scheduled copy's content; the published post stays until you delete it. If an app, script or AI assistant schedules Flows for you through an API key or our MCP server, it acts for you within that key's permissions, what it posts is your content, and our API Terms of Use apply. How moderation works.
"Moderators" means Third Eye Cyborg, LLC and the people it authorises to moderate. "Community moderators" means members who moderate a network they run.
Public content (posts, comments, public network chat, public Lives and public calls) is moderated. If Use AI Features is on (AI mode), its text and images are checked by automated tools, including OpenAI's moderation API and, where enabled, Cloudflare, and some cases go to people. If Use AI Features is off (Human Community mode), or you choose Local Only, it's reviewed by moderators, not AI. Until we finish this change, images you post publicly and checks during public video calls and Lives may still use automated tools.
Whispers (one-on-one private messages, including text, images, audio and video) and private network chat aren't proactively scanned, by people or by AI, and aren't held for approval. They're delivered right away. An Ascended moderator sees a Whisper only if someone in the conversation reports it. The report shows the messages the reporter selects and up to 10 messages before and after them for context. Owners and moderators of a private network can see what's posted in that network's channels they belong to, like any member. Community moderators can't see Whispers, and every view by an Ascended moderator is logged. Reported private messages are never sent to AI.
Legal and safety exceptions. We may review, preserve or disclose content, including private messages, when the law requires it (for example, reporting child sexual abuse material to NCMEC or responding to valid legal process), or when we believe in good faith it's needed to protect someone from imminent harm.
Federation is planned, but it has no launch date and isn't available today, and plans can change. When federation launches, public content delivered to Ascended Social and private communication with Ascended Social-hosted users would remain subject to our rules and moderation; private exchanges solely among users of independent self-hosted services that never pass through Ascended Social may be outside our moderation, and those operators and users would be responsible for their own rules and legal compliance. Private messages involving Ascended Social-hosted users aren't proactively reviewed or checked by AI; Ascended moderators review them only when someone in the conversation reports them, or where the law requires.
5. Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal, reduced visibility, feature restrictions, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, and where appropriate, referral to law enforcement. Creator earnings may be withheld for fraud or breach of the Creator Partner Program Terms: Payouts only where the law allows and as those terms set out; otherwise, earnings are not forfeited. Material risks of harm may be acted on without prior notice.Moderators weigh how serious the violation is, whether it was intentional, the account's history, and the risk of harm. Unless the law or a safety risk prevents it, we tell you what action we took, which rule it was under, whether automated tools were involved, and how to appeal.
After a warning, we may suspend accounts that often post clearly illegal content, and suspend reporting for people who often submit clearly unfounded reports.
Appeals. If we remove or restrict your content or account, suspend or end your access, or limit your earnings, you can appeal free of charge at https://ascended.social/app/settings?tab=appeals or through in-app support. You can appeal for at least 6 months after we notify you of the decision. Appeals are reviewed by a person, not decided solely by automated tools. We'll review the decision again, tell you the outcome and why, and reverse it if it was wrong. If you're in the EU, you can also take the dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body (see below) or go to court.
Out-of-court dispute settlement (EU). If you're in the EU and disagree with a moderation decision, or with how we handled your report or appeal, you may choose any out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under Article 21 of the EU Digital Services Act. Using one is voluntary, doesn't stop you going to court, and its decisions aren't binding on you or us. We'll engage with the body in good faith. The fee rules set by the DSA apply. The European Commission publishes the list of certified bodies.
6. Reporting violations
Use the in-app report tools or write to support@ascended.social. For copyright-specific complaints see the DMCA / Copyright Policy (/legal/dmca).Reporting illegal content (EU Digital Services Act). Anyone, with or without an account, can report content they believe is illegal through our notice form at https://ascended.social/legal/dsa-notice. Tell us where the content is (URL or in-app location), why you believe it's illegal, and your name and email (optional for child sexual abuse reports), and confirm you're reporting in good faith. We confirm receipt, tell you our decision, and explain how to seek redress.
Knowingly false reports, or reports made to harass someone, also break this AUP.
6A. Contacts, blocking, takedowns, and Lives
Contacts: trust@thirdeyecyborg.com (legal notices), support@ascended.social (privacy and reports). You can block another account in the app. Blocking stops that person from messaging you.
We act on child-safety and immediate-danger reports as quickly as possible, ahead of all other reports, and aim to respond to all other reports within 3 business days. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Public Lives are recorded through Cloudflare Stream and may be watched in real time by moderators. Private Lives are recorded; moderators review them only if someone reports them.
7. Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP. For material changes we'll give notice in the app or by email before they take effect, unless a change is needed right away for legal or safety reasons.Questions: trust@thirdeyecyborg.com. We aim to reply within 3 business days.
